Problem :

I am trying to SQL Server and ASP.NET. I have written the following function:

Using js = daoFactory.CreateMyJoinScope()

Using transact = New Transactions.TransactionScope()

                    '...

                    transact.Complete()

                End Using

            End Using

But I am facing  the following exception:

 'The transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions.'

Please find below the Description of MyJoinScope:

Public Class MyJoinScope

    Implements IJoinScope

    Implements IDisposable

    '...

End Class

I have already worked in the same manner in another application with the same environments but without any issue, but here I have above problem. How can I solve this problem?

Solution :

Please always confirm that the "Distributed Transaction Coordinator" Service is running on your database and client both. Also please check if you have "Network DTC Access", "Allow Remote Client", "Allow Inbound/Outbound" and "Enable TIP".

Please follow below procedure to enable the Network DTC Access for the MS DTC transactions

1.  To begin with please open the Component Services snap-in.

So to open Component Services please click Start. In your search box please type dcomcnfg, and after that press ENTER.

2.  Now expand the console tree to find the DTC (e.g, Local DTC) for whom you want to enable the Network MS DTC Access.

3.  On your Action menu please click Properties.

4.  Finally click your Security tab and please make the following changes:

In the Security Settings, please check the Network DTC Access check box.

And in Transaction Manager Communication, check the Allow Inbound and Allow Outbound check boxes.

After following all above procedure your issue will be resolved.

Problem : I am very new to ASP.Net. I have created my first ASP.Net application which impersonates the user in order to create the AD group, and after that it launches the powershell process as the user saperately. But because of some reason the group ... I would rather not compromise with the security policy with the server ideally, and this application will be used by around 100+ users.
