Problem :

When I try to compile my spring project, I always face the below error :

Error creating bean with name 'entityManagerFactory' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/boot/autoconfigure/orm/jpa/HibernateJpaAutoConfiguration.class]: Invocation of init method failed

I have the STS Eclipse and MySql Database

My Connection string in Application.Properties is as below :

spring.datasource.url=jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/stgdb

spring.datasource.username=root

spring.datasource.password=root

spring.datasource.driver-class-name=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver

spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=update

Solution :

 

Please include below dependencies to resolve your issue :

 

<dependency>
    <groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
    <artifactId>hibernate-core</artifactId>
    <version>4.1.4.Final</version>
</dependency>

And add below one as well.

<dependency>
    <groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
    <artifactId>hibernate-entitymanager</artifactId>
    <version>5.2.3.Final</version>
</dependency>
