Problem :

Whenever I try to open the Google Chrome I am constantly facing the following error

"A PROFILE ERROR OCCURRED: Something went wrong when opening your profile. Some features may be unavailable".

Further to that, when I try to close the Chrome, it will then simply refuse to open again unless I completely log out of it and then after some time log back in. This current problem has survived the repeated logging out and back in to the Chrome, uninstalling and after that reinstalling, and still it persists even if I am completely signed out of the Google account. This is currently occurring on my home desktop PC but it does not occur on the work PC, and so it appears to be the problem with chrome on my home PC. Have anyone ever faced the above mentioned error with the chrome? Any solution on the issue resolution?

Solution :

To find the folder named AppData please uncover the files hidden on your home PC as for default it is hidden.

After doing that please try to delet the file "web data" from below path :

C:/Users/Username/AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/UserData/Default

And if it is still not working then also delete "Local State" File from below path:

C:/Users/Username/AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/UserData

Hope it resolves your issue.
