Problem :

I have my web application which is throwing the below error while running in IE:

“Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion”

It works really fine in my Chrome but unfortunately gives the above error in production deployment and I do not have the access to see the more detailed information on my error.

And it confuses me as why this is only occurring when trying to use the IE. Any pointers?

Solution :

The error appears to be caused by either the bug or by the memory leak related to your COM+. Restarting your Application Pool or by restarting the IIS will fix your issue. Be informed that it can crop up again out of the blue, so you need to consider restarting your app pool on the scheduled basis.

It is very unlikely that your error is only browser related. It is very much a possibility that the app was working in the Chrome due to the caching. Or maybe the production has the multiple servers, and your Chrome was hitting the good server amongst them, and your IE was hitting the bad sever amongst them.

Hope it helps you in resolving your issue.

I would be grateful for any thoughts or clarifications.

Problem: I had asked a question about this earlier, but it didn't get answered right and led nowhere. So I've clarified few details on the problem and I would really like to hear your ideas on how could I fix this or what should I try. I have Java 1.6.0 ... almost completely with the 1.6.0.26 java.security file. There are no additional providers in the first one. * The previous question is here.
