Problem :

Intel i5-2410M CPU is running at 2.30 GHz running the Windows 7 64-bit operating system.

I have the VirtualBox 4.13 installed.

I am trying to run the ubuntu-14.04-desktop-amd64.iso but I face the below error

This kernel requires an x86-64 cpu but only detected an i686 cpu

I even tried to enable the Intel Virtualization in my BIOS settings and after doing that tried to use my image again but I still face the same error.

Is there any other reason why I am unable to use the image?

Solution :

I came across the same issue in the recent past but enabling Virtualization from BIOS worked for me. I am working on Windows 10. Initiallty you can disable the windows Hyper option from below path :
control panel->Program and Features->Turn windows features on or off->un-select Hyper-V. and save this settings
Now go to below path :
BIOS setting-> select Advance option->
Here you can see the virtualization option you need to just enable this option and reboot the machine saving your settings.
You also need to Delete any VirtualBox which is present earlier that caused issue. Now click on the New option of your VirtualBox you can see the option to install 64-bit operating systems.

Hope this solves your issue.

Problem: I'm running Oracle VirtualBox VM 6.1 on an Ubuntu 20.04 LTS host. The guest OS is Windows 10. After booting up the computer and logging into my user account, I get a grey window that pops up at the top of the desktop that says: VBoxClient: The virtualbox kernel service ... at all. What's causing this problem, and how do I remedy it? I don't want that message to pop up anymore. Thanks....
