Data redundancy doesn't ensure the accuracy and reliability of data contained in the database. This is ensured by the data integrity. It is supported by a collection of rules, processes, and standards performed throughout the design phase. No matter how long-drawn it’s stored or how frequently it’s accessed, the information saved in a database will persist accurate, complete, and reliable when the integrity of data is safe. Data integrity also assures that your data is protected from any external forces. Data integrity is a process that describes criteria used to assure the validity and efficiency of a data collection or all data carried in a database.
