The six clauses of the SELECT articulation. There are six conditions that can be utilized in a SQL articulation. These six provisions are SELECT, FROM, WHERE, GROUP BY, HAVING, and ORDER BY. Provisions must be coded in a particular arrangement.A SQL SELECT explanation recovers records from a database table as indicated by provisions (for instance, FROM and WHERE ) that determine criteria. The linguistic structure is: SELECT column1, column2 FROM table1, table2 WHERE column2='value';The SQL SELECT explanation restores an outcome set of precedents from at least one tables. The SQL SELECT articulation restores an outcome set of precedents from at least one tables.

Problem : I know that my query below causes the error - ORDER BY items must appear in the select list if SELECT DISTINCT is specified. SELECT DISTINCT mycity FROM Employees WHERE mycountry = N'USA' AND myregion = N'WA' ORDER BY mybirthdate; What is a reason for ... gives me some output, but not the error. Is it because SELECT DISTINCT mycity only gives the result set with cities and nothing else ?
